A place for Old Salts & New Stories
Salt & Heritage grew from a simple love of books—and a lifelong curiosity about the stories, objects, places, and people that give the American South its shape.
It is being imagined as a Southern bookshop with a little more to discover: carefully chosen new, used, and rare books; conversations with authors and artists; histories waiting to be uncovered; collections deserving of care; and the occasional curious object brought home from somewhere far away.
At its heart is a belief that heritage isn't something locked away in museums or archives. It lives in family libraries, handwritten recipes, old photographs, well-loved books, objects passed from one generation to the next, and the stories people carry with them.
Salt & Heritage is currently a work in progress—a collection being slowly curated, a field study of our community's needs, and a dream taking shape.
For now, we're reading, researching, collecting, traveling, learning, and paying attention.
Eventually, we hope to open the doors in Georgetown, South Carolina.

Services related to family archives, family histories, personal libraries, collection development, research, organization, conservation, preservation, digitization, and interpretation.
